Garbage Can at Lowes

I was checking at Lowes earlier today for a new garbage can and found the one I wanted for my next trash bin. I plan to use my old garbage can for a garbage can compost bin and hope to make compost in it.

If you can think of a better use for my old garbage can other than making compost, I'd like to hear some more ideas.

Pink Dogwood

Pink Dogwood

The pink dogwood (Cornus florida rubra) is one of America's most popular pink flowering ornamental trees. It is known by most people simply as the pink dogwood. The species name florida is latin for flowering, but the showy petal like bracts are not in fact the actual flowers. The bright red fruit of this fast growing tree is a source of food for many different wildlife. The pink dogwood's wood is smooth, hard and close-grained and now used mainly for specialty products.

Things You Can Make With a Garbage Can

Things You Can Make With a Garbage Can

There are more things you can do with a garbage can than just storing garbage. For instance, you can use them to make a garbage can compost bin. A homemade compost bin from a garbage can is a good way to put your old garbage can to a great use.

Build a Garbage Can Compost Bin

To build a garbage can compost bin, all you really need to do is drill holes in your garbage can and then start composting. You need to make sure there are enough holes for the compost to aerate properly or otherwise you'll end up with a big wet mess. You can set your compost bin up on concrete blocks or bricks when you are finished so it will drain well. Once your compost bin is set up and ready to go, you can start composting.

Things You Can Compost in Your Garbage Can Compost Bin

There are many things you can compost in your "new" trash can compost bin. The main source of things you can compost are usually from the kitchen or garden. Coffee grounds make great composting material, but you can use coffee grounds in the garden, as well. Banana peels, vegetable peelings, old fruits and vegetables, leaves and lawn clippings. These all will get your compost going in your garbage can compost bin.

Rear Tine Tillers vs. Front Tine Tiller

Rear Tine Tillers - Front Tine Tillers

Choosing a Rear Tine Tiller or a Front Tine Tiller for your garden.

Rear Tine Tillers, though most now are easily maneuverable, they are still large bulky machines. Rear Tine Tillers have gas powered engines, and are strong enough to work through soil that has never been tilled before. Rear Tined Tillers are much easier to handle than Front Tine Tillers, and therefore take much less "muscle" from the operator. Rear Tine Tillers are a better solution for larger gardens.

Front Tine Tillers are lighter in weight than Rear Tine Tillers. The till width averages around 12 inches, and most front tine tiller have small engines. Front Tine Tillers are best for using on soil that has been tilled before. Front Tine Tillers are mainly used in gardens that have already been cultivated and are a perfect solution for weeding garden beds.

Facts of Life

Facts of Life

I've come to learn about the facts of life in a hard way. Most of my life has been centered on getting ahead in this lifetime. To stay afloat. Sometimes this brings to question our moral thoughts. I believe some would do anything to get ahead in this life. And then, there too, are upstanding citizens whose beliefs will never waiver no matter the situation. I wish sometimes that we were all on the same journey, but this belief of what life should be and where we are going is mostly a false make-up. I write in hopes of understanding the motivation of individuals and just where they think they are going and what they believe they will accomplish. Explore with me and let's see where the human mind believes its final destination is and why we make decisions based on that belief. The true facts of life just may reveal themselves in passing.
